Concrete slab pre-screed
When a concrete floor has to be level with very low tolerances a concrete screed or levelling compound is applied over the concrete. A temporary edge protection system fixed directly to the concrete will obstruct the levelling work so we have developed casting protectors for our post support components to allow this.
Cast protection for socket base (product code 911109) is an expendable circular former that protects the Socket base (product code 912110) from concrete when screed is applied. It also allows clean removal leaving a shallow hole for grout filling.
Cast protection for post foot (product code 911140) is a reusable plastic former which is anchored to concrete and protects the post foot during the application of floor levelling compound or liquid screed. Upon completion, the edge protection is removed leaving a clean hole to 50 mm in depth for grout filling.

Attachment on the side of concrete slabs
Fixing temporary fall protection to the edge of the concrete slab offers a clear working area on top of the slab for the installation of Systemised Framed Systems (SFS).
The Vertical bracket (product code 912118) is attached to the edge of the concrete using cast-in anchors or post-Drilled reusable screw anchors. It can be installed along two axes offering a clearance from the slab of 20 mm or 59 mm, before Barriers are installed.

Compression posts on concrete slabs
The Compression post represents the next generation of systemised temporary edge protection. An easy to install full-height post that uses the floor and soffit surfaces as anchor points providing secure resistance for temporary edge protection Barriers and horizontal rails. It is lightweight for carrying between floors and adaptable for external perimeters or internal exclusion zones.
The Compression post is easy to install in room heights of 2,2 – 3,5 metres by extending to the ceiling and then activating the compression function by a foot. Barriers are securely held and locked in place by twin wedge connectors.

Attachment on top of concrete slabs
Installing temporary edge protection on top of the concrete slab keeps the edge clear for fixing facade brackets when unitised curtain-walling is to be installed or when masonry forms the external facade. We offer the following two main options for installing on top of slab.
The Socket base (product code 912110) uses a double-threaded M16 (product code 919111) that connects into the slab using an M16 drop-in or impact anchor (product code 919110)
Alternatively the Post foot (product code 912105) connects to slab using reusable screw anchors. This carries an economical benefit if the edge protection system is to be moved for around the project.
Both components hold Standard system Post, 1300 mm in height with double wedge lock connectors that retain Barriers in position without allowing them to slide. The Posts are held captive in Socket base and Post foot using a twist-lock design, which prevents accidental lifting or removal.
