Adjustable clamp 550 for temporary edge protection on concrete wall at construction site UK

Precast concrete walls and beams

Adjustable clamp 550 for temporary edge protection on concrete wall at construction site UK

Pre-casting concrete elements allows for inclusion of cast-in components to support the temporary edge protection system needed to erect the structure. If edge protection is needed in wall or beam elements, cast-in anchors can be inserted into the formwork. If the attachment point is on the side of the sections, our Vertical bracket (product code 912118) can be installed. If it’s on top of the sections our Post foot (product code 912105) can be used instead as a bracket for posts and steel mesh barriers.

Socket with Rebar 400 mm is an expendable socket that is embedded into slabs or beams with a minimum depth of 500 mm. The Post socket sits flush with the top of the concrete and it is supplied with a protective plastic cap to prevent concrete ingress.

If anchoring is to be avoided, Adjustable clamp 300 or 550 can be installed on site before the units are lifted into position.

SafetyRespect offer technical support and will provide detailed information to your specific criteria.

Fixing temporary fall protection to the edge of the concrete slab offers a clear working area on top of the slab for the installation of Systemised Framed Systems (SFS).

The Vertical bracket (product code 912118) is attached to the edge of the concrete using cast-in anchors or post-Drilled reusable screw anchors. It can be installed along two axes offering a clearance from the slab of 20 mm or 59 mm, before Barriers are installed.

Collective edge protection for exclusion zones

Temporary edge protection systems have to be removed to install unitised facade systems to the external elevations of high-rise buildings. An important control measure on projects where external facade installation is to be undertaken from inside the building is the use of exclusion zones which allow only those permitted to be inside these exposed unprotected areas. It’s important that exclusion zones can be erected quickly using minimum components with relative portability for carrying through stair cores or on hoists. Using SafetyRespect steel mesh barrier’s as the visible and impassable zone boundary we offer two post types for support.

Compression post (product 919030) locks between floor and ceiling slabs removing the need for a separate base plate.

Freestanding base (product 912320) sits on the concrete floor supporting Post 1,3 m, at 2,4 metre maximum spacings.

This offers the benefit of less components, lightweight equipment and fast install, removal and re-installation which can materialise large time savings over long periods of re-cycling between floors.

The Compression post represents the next generation of systemised temporary edge protection. An easy to install full-height post that uses the floor and soffit surfaces as anchor points providing secure resistance for temporary edge protection Barriers and horizontal rails. It is lightweight for carrying between floors and adaptable for external perimeters or internal exclusion zones.

The Compression post is easy to install in room heights of 2,2 – 3,5 metres by extending to the ceiling and then activating the compression function by a foot. Barriers are securely held and locked in place by twin wedge connectors.

Fall protection construction project LAX USA

SafetyRespect delivers fall protection to giant construction project in LA USA

Fall protection construction project LAX USA
At the world’s fifth largest airport, Los Angeles International Airport, a new automated people mover is currently being built to transport passengers between the terminals. We at SafetyRespect are proud to be a supplier of fall protection for the project.

More than 61 million people travel to or from Los Angeles International Airport each year, making the airport the world’s fifth largest in terms of passenger numbers. To make it easier for all these passengers to get between the terminals, a 3,5 km long high-speed railway with a total of six stations is currently being built – three within the central terminal area and three outside.

The construction project will run until 2022 and the system will be operational and open to passenger traffic in 2023. They have chosen to use fall protection from SafetyRespect to keep workers safe. Our barriers, posts and brackets have been installed on the parts of the track where the work is currently underway.
